How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in applying to our program! We accept 12 categorical and 6 preliminary interns annually. We fill all positions through participation in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We welcome applications from graduates or soon-to-be graduates of medical schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or of an international medical school listed by the World Health Organization in the World Directory of Medical Schools.


All applications are accepted and reviewed through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the 2016 NRMP Match Cycle/ Class of 2019 beginning September 15, 2015. Interview invitations will be disbursed on a rolling basis between October 1 and the application deadline of December 15, 2015. Interviews are granted by invitation after careful consideration of your completed ERAS application packet. Please allow 14-business days for your completed application to be reviewed.

An application is considered complete once the following are submitted via ERAS:

Personal Statement

MSPE / Dean’s Letter

Medical School Transcript

Curriculum Vitae or Resume

3 Letters of Recommendation, one may be Department/Chair Letter (can submit up to 4)

ECFMG Certification (international medical graduates only)

Official USMLE and/or COMLEX Transcript

Step 1 required for invitation to interview

Step 2 CS & CK (scores due by February 20, 2016)​

Interviews

Interviews for the categorical and preliminary internal medicine residency program occur November 2015 through January 2016 on select Tuesdays and Thursdays. Invited candidates receive a personalized link to Interview Broker for scheduling his or her interview. Please note when booking travel that dinner with the residents is the night prior to interview. Hotel is not provided. Expect interview day to begin at 8:30 AM and conclude by 2:00 PM. Complimentary valet parking is available at Holy Cross Hospital. If you are unable to travel, please notify the GME office for consideration of alternate interview methods.
